The countdown to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek is on, and Solaris Vail is your headquarters for this year’s festivities. The annual event brings more than 700 alpine sports athletes from around the world, as well as a few hometown favorites such as Lindsey Vonn, Sarah Schleper and Mikaela Shiffrin, to Vail Valley to compete on Colorado’s best slopes.
The competition will transform our very own Solaris Plaza into the “Champions Plaza,” where the two-week race series’ Opening Ceremony will take place on February 2, in addition to a nightly medal ceremony honoring each day’s winning athletes. The plaza will also be adorned with large television screens where all of the competitions’ action will be aired for Vail villagers to enjoy.
While nights will be a celebratory ritual for athletes, they will also include live musical performances, firework shows and light displays at no charge for spectators.
Free Concerts will include:
- Michael Franti & Spearhead on February 3
- American Authors on February 6
- Phillip Phillips on February 12
- and more!
